University Memorial Service Scheduled May 1

Event remembers students, faculty, staff and emeriti who died in 2024-25

OXFORD, Miss. – 17³Ô¹ÏÍø will honor members of the campus community who died during 2024-25 at an annual Memorial Ceremony, set for 4 p.m. Thursday (May 1) in Paris Yates Chapel.

"We feel deep sorrow when we lose a member of our Ole Miss community," Chancellor Glenn Boyce said. "By gathering during the University Memorial Ceremony, our hope is that we will have a reflective time to honor those that we lost, while expressing care and compassion through our shared remembrance, thoughts and prayers."

All members of the Lafayette-Oxford-University community are invited to attend. For assistance related to a disability, email events@olemiss.edu.

ASB President Jack Jones, Staff Council President Lolita Gregory and Faculty Senate Chair Hans Sinha will read the names of the deceased. The University Student String Quartet will provide musical accompaniment.
